In the Studio

For me– –and my business partner husband– —“in the studio” also means “in the home” since, even though we have rooms “only for working,” our work pretty much spills over everywhere else around us as well.

This page shows some views in our always-changing studio space, with some favorite garments and textiles– –many of which are my “uncuttable” studio friends, along with many textiles for home decor and wearables, plus lots of in-progress jewelry, kimono scarves, etc.

Studio Stash: L to R: Vintage Indian sari silks, Japanese kimono silks, African and Central American textiles.
We finally built a “high desk” which is easier for standing work, creating scarves and home decor art.
L: Two of my favorite “studio friends” are mid 20th century garments from India and China; and at R: 1920s Japanese kimono (with many damages, later repurposed as scarves and jewelry)
Other planning and display space where I spend waaaaay too much time on the computer.
